Walker man killed in Ascension crash
GALVEZ — A Walker man died after his GMC pickup rear-ended another truck early Monday on La. 42 in Ascension Parish, Louisiana State Police reported.
Joshua O. Graham, 28, was not wearing his seat belt, received serious injuries and was taken to Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge where he later died, troopers said in a statement Monday.
A 2007 Ford pickup being driven by Robert M. Ricouard III, 39, Roxie, Miss., was stopped on La. 42 west of La. 44 just after 6 a.m. when the accident happened, troopers said.
Ricouard and his passenger, Rustin E. Carmouche, 32, of Gonzales, were waiting for traffic to make a left turn onto Cecil James Road, troopers said.
Ricouard and Carmouche were wearing their seat belts, troopers said.
Ricouard received minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
Carmouche was not injured, troopers said.
