Ascension sets trick-or-treat hours

Little ghosts and goblins will be hitting the streets at 6 p.m. Saturday to celebrate Halloween.

Trick-or-treating is set from 6 p.m. to 8 pm. across Ascension Parish.

Children ages 12 and under can trick-or-treat in the rural areas and in the city limits of Gonzales. Sorrento and Donaldsonville do not have age limits.

Cancer awareness focus of program

The Community Sisterhood is hosting its annual “Women in Pink Program” in honor of breast cancer awareness on Nov. 7 at the Geismar Community Center, 12060 La. 73.

The 3 p.m. program will honor area residents fighting against breast cancer.

Christmas show auditions slated

The Ascension Community Theatre is holding auditions Nov. 7 for its annual children’s Christmas show, set Dec. 17 through Dec. 20 at the Pasqua Theatre.

“A Play on Christmas” director Ami Clouatre-Johnson said there are 50 openings for the production, including cast, technical crew and back stage helpers.

The production was written by Roger Johnson.

“We have speaking and non-speaking roles and several singing roles available for all ages and gender,” ACT spokeswoman Lorna Culmone Bourgeois said in a news release.

There is no fee to participate.
