Chamber holds 12th golf tournament

The weather was perfect for the Ascension Chamber of Commerce’s 12th annual Golf Ascension tournament Oct. 19 at the Pelican Point Links Golf course.
“I don’t think we could have asked for a more wonderful day,” said Sherrie Despino, Ascension Chamber President/CEO. “The support we have received from our Chamber members has been extraordinary, their involvement and participation has made this year’s tournament one of the best ever.”
Proceeds from the tournament are used to fund the Chamber’s Leadership Ascension program.
The first-place net score prize was awarded to Bill Delaune, Joey Fryoux and Mike Strong, with the team of Dr. Jamie Broussard, Dave Miller and James Williams winning second place and Bret Hughes, Brad Hughes and Clay Stafford picking up third place.
Kirk Maynard and Mark LaCour won the “closest to the hole” prize; and Broussard and Delaune won the “longest drive” contest.”
