Golf tournament to aid cancer fight
Friends of the late Donnie Reynolds are hosting the Donnie Reynolds Memorial Golf Tournament at 1 p.m. Monday at Pelican Point.
Reynolds was diagnosed with esophageal cancer in 2007 and died in April.
The tournament costs $100 per person and registration will be accepted the day of the event.
The tournament is using a four-person “shamble” start. An auction and raffle are also being held to raise money for medical expenses incurred during Reynolds’ treatment.
Tournament organizers said the event is also being held to raise awareness of the cancer.
Tournament and hole sponsorships are available by calling (225) 247-0975 or (225) 270-4443.
