THIBODAUX — The Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office released two of the men it had booked with killing three men Monday, Sheriff Craig Webre said Wednesday in a news release.

One man remains in custody, booked with the triple homicide, Webre said.

Three men were arrested and booked with first-degree murder in the killings in Raceland early Monday morning.

The sheriff said the victims were shot and killed with fire from an AK-47 assault rifle while they were sitting in a Ford Mustang in a low-income neighborhood.

Darrell Charles, 18, 11 Kirkglen Loop, Houma, remains in custody, booked with first-degree murder in the attack, Webre said.

Charles confessed to the shootings and implicated Clifton Bell, 28, 178 E. 18th St., Larose; and Percy Lee Folse, 37, 442 St. Louis St., Raceland, in the shooting, Webre said.

After interrogating Bell and Folse, detectives determined there was insufficient evidence to book the pair with three counts of first-degree murder each, the sheriff said.

However, Bell and Folse remain of interest to detectives investigating the triple homicide case, he said.

Those slain were Terry L. Hester, 22, 1218 Shelly St., Houma; Brad A. Bourda, 27, East 22nd St., Larose; and Chauncy Adams, 30, 119 W. 15th St., Larose.

“An all-out effort is under way to find the dangerous person or persons who committed this crime,” Capt. Aaron Arabie of the Sheriff’s Office said.

“A triple homicide in Lafourche is unprecedented,” Arabie added. “We will continue to work around the clock to remove this criminal element from our streets.”
