ASCENSION

St. Amant High graduation scheduled

St. Amant High School seniors will graduate during a 7 p.m. ceremony on Wednesday at the Lamar-Dixon Expo Center.

Graduating as the class valedictorian is Hayley Ann Haydel, daughter of Rhonda and Danny Haydel.

Haydel graduates with a 4.737 grade point average and plans to study biological sciences at LSU.

She received the LSU National Scholars Award, LSU chancellor’s student aide job, LSU Freshmen Merit Award, Tulane University Distinguished Scholar Award, Loyola University New Orleans Dean’s Scholar Award and Ascension Credit Union scholarship.  She was a member of the school’s volleyball team for four years, softball team for two years, science club, Beta club, art club and student council.

Haydel was also a player on the Bayou Bandits volleyball team and an assistant coach for the group’s 14 and under team. She was a volunteer at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church fair for two years and helped with the Lake Elementary science night program. 

With a grade point average of 4.679, Erica Michelle Geromini is the class salutatorian.

Geromini, the daughter of Al and Lisa Geromini and Al and Cindy Neal, plans to study architecture at LSU. 

She received the LSU National Scholars Award and chancellor’s student aide job.

She was a member of the school’s science, Beta and art clubs. Geromini’s volunteer work included helping local nonprofits after Hurricane Katrina, making Christmas cards for residents of Azalea Estates of Gonzales, donating gifts for the Ascension Sheriff’s Office Adopt-A-Family program and baking items for local police departments.
