Man sought in shooting
GALLIANO — The Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office is searching for an illegal immigrant in the shooting injury of another man, Sheriff Craig Webre said Monday in a news release.
Jaime Galvin, 39, no address available, was critically injured after being shot twice in the face Sunday at point-blank range on East 95th Street in Galliano, witnesses told deputies, Webre said.
Galvin was in critical condition at University Hospital in New Orleans, Webre said.
The illegal immigrant, Jose Perez Garcia, no age or address available, was allegedly upset with Galvin for spinning the tires on his car and throwing rocks and gravel on Garcia’s vehicle, the sheriff said.
Galvin was reportedly intoxicated at the time, Webre said.
Federal immigration officials said Garcia, who is at large, is illegally in the U.S. on fraudulent documents, Webre said.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Garcia is asked to contact the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office.
