Hospice Compassus seeks volunteers
Hospice Compassus is seeking volunteers for a wide range of duties, from listening and visiting patients to running errands.
Volunteer training is held monthly. For information, call Lynne Durel at (337) 235-8690.
Projects to close portions of street
Their will be partial road closures along Washington Street between French and Center streets in New Iberia beginning Monday and lasting about four weeks, the city of New Iberia announced this week.
The closure is for drainage work and street repairs.
Drivers are asked to use alternate routes.
Red Cross offers pet first aid class
The American Red Cross will offer a class this month on first aid for pets.
The course costs $25 and will cover such topics as how to approach injured pets, how to give medication and how to detect dehydration.
The class is scheduled for 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 28 at the Red Cross office at 101 N. Pat St. in Scott.
Pets should not be brought to the class. For information, call (337) 234-7371.
