ULL recruiters plan to tailgate at game

LAFAYETTE — University of Louisiana at Lafayette recruiters will be tailgating tonight at Northside High School stadium from 5 p.m. until game time.

ULL staff and students will be on hand to answer questions about the university and show support for area high schools Northside and its opponent, St. Martinville High School.

Both schools are major feeder schools for the university.

The tailgating will include free hot dogs, chips and soda to students, teachers and staff at the two high schools.

Prize giveaways are also available to a limited number of students who stop by the ULL tent.

Future plans include recruitment outreach at other high schools in the area, the university reports in a news release.

St. Pius Elementary to hold open house

LAFAYETTE — St. Pius Elementary School will hold its annual open house for prospective students and their families at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 12.

Applications for the 2010-2011 school year will be available to the attendees.

St. Pius is a Catholic elementary school, educating students from pre-kindergarten through eighth grade.

Its campus is at 205 E. Bayou Parkway.
