EarthShare Gardens will hold Harvest Moon Dinner, a fundraiser for the group, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday in the gardens of Harold and Sarah Schoeffler in Lafayette.
Tickets are $75 for an individual or $125 for couples. Dinner will be prepared by Chef Orlando Amaro, of Pamplona Tapas Bar. Amaro will use local and/or organic ingredients.
The fundraiser supplies a portion of EarthShare’s operating costs for the year and allows projects such as the donation garden, community garden plots and Community Supported Agriculture garden to continue.

Heart Walk set Saturday
More than 3,000 people are expected to participate in the American Heart Association’s Start! Health Walk on Saturday at Elysian Fields Park in River Ranch.
The annual event raises funds to fight heart disease and stroke, America’s No. 1 and No. 3 killers. It begins at 8 a.m.
The noncompetitive, 3-mile walk includes family members of all ages, friends and teams of employees from local companies.
Fall Frenzy this Saturday
The Lafayette Parish school system will hold its annual Schools of Choice Fall Frenzy at 9 a.m. Saturday.
The free event will be held at the Cajundome Convention Center and features hands-on activities for children as well as performances by students.
Parents can fill out applications on site.
The event ends at 1 p.m.
