Deputies: Woman planned for slayings
EUNICE — The St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested a 45-year-old Eunice woman in an alleged murder for hire.
The Sheriff’s Office reported in a news release that Glynis Ann Fournerat, was arrested on two counts of solicitation for murder.
Fournerat allegedly tried to hire a hit man to kill her estranged husband because of an ongoing divorce battle.
Detectives received the information Wednesday and set up a sting operation in an effort to gather evidence, the release stated.
“We learned that not only did she want her estranged husband dead, she expressed a desire to have her estranged husband’s female friend killed as well,” Sheriff Bobby Guidroz said in the release.
Detectives set up the meeting with an undercover officer posing as the hit man.
Fournerat allegedly told the undercover officer that she would pay $8,000 to have her husband and his friend killed, the release stated. The names of the targets were not released.
She was booked into the St. Landry Parish Jail, the release stated. No bond has been set.
