McKneely: Call police to report salespeople
Authorities are advising residents to call them if they encounter people peddling magazines for Syn Inc., a police spokesman said Monday.
Investigators have received numerous complaints about the salespeople, who are going door to door and trying to sell magazines for a discount, Cpl. L’Jean McKneely said.
Syn Inc. does not have a permit with the city-parish to make such solicitations, McKneely said. As a result, the company does not have permission to sell items in the Baton Rouge area, he added.
Police have arrested one salesperson for allegedly stealing a check from someone’s home, McKneely said. Details about the arrest were not available Monday.
