Nicholson-Wampold LLC has purchased the old Sears and Roebuck warehouse, a 32,000-square-foot building off Nicholson Drive, for $350,000 from Warehouses Inc., a South Carolina firm affiliated with Kahn Development LLC.

The property also includes 1.5 acres of land, said Chad G. Orte, a Realtor with Donnie Jarreau Real Estate Inc. Nicholson Wampold already owned two acres next to the warehouse property.

The warehouse was built for Sears and Roebuck in the 1950s by Kahn Development, but its uses were limited basically to being a warehouse before the sale, Orte said. Now the old warehouse has a lot of potential because together the properties include two acres of frontage and parking on Nicholson.

Nicholson-Wampold doesn’t have immediate plans for the property but would like to work with one or multiple tenants that would be a good catalyst or catalysts for the area, Orte said.
