Baton Rouge Police Chief Jeff LeDuff was injured today when he was ejected from his Baton Rouge Police department motorcycle on the westbound Interstate 10 off ramp near Siegen Lane. LeDuff has been released from Our Lady of Lake Medical Center.
LeDuff is expected to make a full recovery. It has not yet been determined whether he will be released this evening or may need to spend the night as a precaution.
Kelly said LeDuff and his family wanted to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers. He added this should also serve as a reminder to everyone to drive/ride safely this holiday season, and for motorcycle riders especially to always wear their helmets.
State Police will release more details about the crash later today.
