LORANGER — Deputies arrested two women Wednesday accused of exchanging prescription drugs while volunteering at a Santa’s Workshop in the Loranger Elementary School library, the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office reported.

Shannon Marie Oliver, 32, 19480 St. Charles St., Loranger, allegedly gave Trudy Angeladale Cefalu, 38, 17129 Cooper Road, Loranger, three Flexeril tablets in front of students and faculty while the pair volunteered at the school, a statement from the Sheriff’s Office says.

Cefalu then left the room and allegedly swallowed the tablets that physicians typically prescribe to relax muscles and treat muscle pain, the statement says.

Oliver was booked into the Tangipahoa Parish Jail in Amite on three counts of possessing and distributing prescription drugs and a violation of a drug-free school zone, the statements says.

Cefalu was booked into the parish jail on one count of possession of a prescription drug and violation of a drug-free school zone, the statement says.
