Two men in custody in robbery, shooting
Two men are in custody and police are looking for two more in the Friday armed robbery at Alby’s Convenience Store on Sherwood Forest Boulevard.
Police say three armed men walked into the store at 9 a.m. demanding money.
The robbers bound two store employees, then shot one in the leg and beat the other with a handgun, police spokesman Cpl. L’ Jean McKneely said.
A fourth man drove the getaway car, which is described as a maroon, four-door vehicle with tinted windows.
The robbers fled north on Sherwood Forest.
Dallas Staden, 24, 2525 O’Neal Lane, surrendered to police the day of the armed robbery.
He was booked into Parish Prison on one count each of attempted first-degree murder and armed robbery.
Staden’s brother, Jeffery Staden, 29, 16845 London Ave., surrendered to authorities Tuesday and was booked into Parish Prison on the same counts. Investigators believe he was the shooter.
Anyone with information is urged to call the police Armed Robbery Division at (225) 389-3845 or Crime Stoppers at (225) 344-7867.
