Port Allen man killed in 3-vehicle crash
A Port Allen man was killed Sunday in a three-car crash on La. 1 near La. 989-1, according to a news release issued by Louisiana State Police Troop A.
David Anding, 57, was ejected from his 2001 GMC pickup. He had been traveling south on La. 1 shortly after 6 p.m. when he crossed into the northbound lane and into the path of a 1999 GMC pickup driven by Brennon Lyons, 19, of Addis.
Lyons' vehicle struck the right side of Anding's truck, and Anding, who was not wearing a seatbelt, according to authorities, was thrown from his vehicle. Lyons' pickup then struck a 1997 Chevrolet pickup driven by Blake Panepinto, 20, also of Addis.
Both Lyons and Panepinto were wearing seatbelts and were not injured.
Anding was taken to Baton Rouge General Hospital where he died from his injuries.
Troopers suspect that Anding was impaired and have submitted a sample of his blood to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab for chemical analysis, according to the news release.
