Advocate reporter Laurie Smith Anderson has died

Anderson, who won many awards for medical reporting, features and food writing, will be remembered by readers for “The Patient Person,” a People section column begun in February 2006 and in which she wrote about her treatment for cancer from diagnosis through the final weeks.
