Many offices closed for Thanksgiving

City-parish, state and federal courts and offices will be closed Thursday in observance of Thanksgiving Day.
State offices will remain closed Friday.
City-parish and federal offices will reopen Friday.
State district court, federal court and juvenile court also will be closed Friday. City Court and the East Baton Rouge Parish Clerk of Court’s offices will be closed Thursday only.
Neither garbage nor recyclables will be collected Thursday. Garbage and trash normally collected on Thursday will be collected on the following Monday. Recyclable material normally collected on Thursday will be collected on the following Thursday.
The North and Ronaldson landfills will be closed Thursday and reopen Friday.
Post offices will be closed. Only Express mail will be delivered.
The East Baton Rouge Parish Animal Control Center and public libraries will be closed Thursday.
There will be no Capital Area Transit System bus service on Thursday. Buses will run Friday on a Saturday schedule.
East Baton Rouge Parish public schools and schools of the Catholic Diocese of Baton Rouge are closed for Thanksgiving break.
LSU, Southern University and Baton Rouge Community College will be closed Thursday.
Banks will be closed Thursday.
The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office will be closed on Thursday and Friday for all nonessential personnel; however, uniform patrol, detectives and other responders will maintain regular hours.
