Deputies arrest Springfield woman in slaying

SPRINGFIELD — Deputies arrested a Springfield woman Monday night accused of the fatal stabbing of another Springfield woman, the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office reported Tuesday.

Deputies found Dana Lindsey, 19, 25522 Sycamore St. Springfield, lying on the ground with numerous stab wounds at her home around 10 p.m., a Sheriff’s Office  statement says.

Based on tips from witnesses, deputies talked to and arrested Charlotte Marie Lee, 28, 25425 La. 43, Apt. A, Springfield, the statement says. Lee allegedly told deputies she accidentally stabbed Lindsay, the statement says.

Lee was booked into the Livingston Parish Detention Center with second-degree murder, the statement says.
