Interstate 12 now open westbound in Walker

Update: Interstate 12 is open again as of 6:38 a.m.
Two people were taken to the hospital after an accident around 2:30 a.m. involving an 18-wheeler and a car on Interstate 12 east of Walker near Highway 447.
According to the Walker Police Department, the car was heading east on the interstate when it lost control, crossed into the westbound lane, and into the path of the 18-wheeler. The 18-wheeler caught on fire and burned to the ground.
The two people in the car were taken to the hospital. The driver and passenger in the 18-wheeler got out safely.
