Man killed in fire identified

The man who died Friday in a fire on South Boulevard was identified Thursday as 64-year-old Leroy McKneely, a Baton Rouge Fire Department spokesman said.
Firefighters rescued McKneely from a residence at 1410 South Blvd. at about 8 p.m. when they were called to the home and found it engulfed in flames, Curt Monte said.
McKneely was taken to Baton Rouge General Medical Center where he later died from smoke inhalation, Monte said.
Investigators are still trying to determine the cause of the fire.
