Acadia
CROWLEY — Voters in the Branch community of Acadia Parish renewed a 10-year, 8.01-mill tax for Fire Protection District 6.
The renewal passed by a vote of 50 to 4.
The property tax generates about $86,700 a year.


Evangeline
VILLE PLATTE — Voters in Pine Prairie approved the renewal of four separate property taxes to fund streets, police services and recreation.
All four renewals passed with more than 80 percent of the vote in support.
Approved were a 10-year, 2-mill tax for police protection; a 10-year, 7-mill tax for street maintenance; a 10-year, 5-mill tax for street construction; and a 9-year, 3-mill tax for recreation.
The taxes generate a combined revenue of about $65,000 a year.


St. Landry
OPELOUSAS — Voters in Opelousas approved a 15-year renewal for a 1-cent sales tax that funds a wide range of city expenses related to garbage service, waterworks, sewer service, the police and fire departments, and sidewalks, streets and bridges.
The renewal passed by a vote of 419 to 133.
The tax generates about $4 million a year.


St. Mary
FRANKLIN — Voters in Centerville, Verdunville and rural areas near Patterson voted down a proposal by Waterworks District 5 to issue $2.6 million in bonds to pay for water system improvements.
The measure failed by a vote of 123 to 109.


Vermilion
ABBEVILLE — Voters in Perry, Intracoastal City, Pecan Island, Esther and Mouton Cove renewed a 10-year, 7.44-mill property tax for Road District 7.
The measure passed by a vote of 67 to 25.
The tax generates about $55,000 a year.
