HAMMOND — State troopers and sheriff’s deputies arrested a man early Friday after he allegedly solicited sex over the Internet from law enforcement officers posing as minors, the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office reported.

Kevin M. Jones Jr., 22, 29276 Winchester Road, Denham Springs, allegedly solicited sex from undercover Tangipahoa Parish sheriff’s deputies and Kenner Police Department officers pretending to be minors in an Internet chat room, a statement from the Sheriff’s Office says.

Jones was arrested at his Denham Springs home Friday with assistance from the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office and Louisiana State Police, the statement says.

Jones was booked into the Tangipahoa Parish Jail on criminal counts of computer aided solicitation of a minor and indecent behavior with juveniles, the statement says.
