Deputies arrest 3 in meth lab case
SPRINGFIELD — Authorities arrested three people in connection with the operation of two methamphetamine labs in a handicap van occupied by a quadriplegic man, the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office reported Friday.
Following an anonymous tip, the Springfield Police Department, agents from the Tri-Parish Task Force and deputies from the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division intercepted the van in Springfield on Tuesday afternoon, a statement from the Sheriff’s Office says.
Investigators allegedly found two meth labs, a small amount of meth and the precursors for making the drug, deputies said. The quadriplegic man, who owned and occupied the van, was not arrested.
According to the statement, the names of the three adults and the counts on which they were booked into the Livingston Parish jail follow.
-- James R. Bare, 40, 22326 Teal St., Maurepas, driving under suspicion, cruelty to the infirmed, creation and operation of a meth lab, possession of meth and manufacturing meth.
-- Kristopher James Sanchez, 32, 26375 Black Lake Club Road, Maurepas, cruelty to the infirmed, operation and creation of a meth lab, possession of meth and manufacturing meth.
-- Rachel Pamela Pruyn, 27, 26692 Black Lake Club Road, Maurepas, cruelty to the infirmed, creation and operation of a meth lab, manufacturing meth, possession of meth, speeding, no driver’s license, expired motor vehicle insurance and issuing worthless checks.
