Teen at school held after armed holdup
Police arrested a teenager Monday at Capitol High School in the armed robbery of a man depositing money at a local bank earlier that morning.
The incident occurred at 6:50 a.m. at Capital One Bank, 8030 Airline Highway, an affidavit of probable cause says.
A McDonald’s employee trying to deposit six bags of cash into the night deposit box was approached by a man who hit him on the head with a gun, the affidavit says.
After a brief struggle, the armed robber fled with four of the bags containing more than $6,000, the affidavit says. He was seen getting into a Chevrolet Impala.
Witnesses followed the car, got the license plate number and called authorities, the affidavit says. Police found Kendrick Anderson at Capitol High School near the car.
Anderson, 18, 10622 Toledo Bend Drive, admitted to investigators that he drove another man to and from the bank, the affidavit says. Anderson was booked into Parish Prison on a count of armed robbery.
