FRANKLIN — Two men from St. Mary Parish pleaded guilty Monday on unrelated drug charges.
Harold Willie Francois, 29, of Morgan City, pleaded guilty to one count of distribution of cocaine and was sentenced to 20 years at hard labor, according to a news release from the 16th Judicial District Attorney’s Office.
Francois was accused of selling cocaine to an undercover agent of the Louisiana State Police on July 24, 2008, in Morgan City, the release stated.
Eric Joseph Fontenot, 26, of Berwick, pleaded guilty to operation of a clandestine laboratory for methamphetamine and was sentenced to 15 years at hard labor, according to the release.
Berwick police stopped Fontenot on June 1 and found chemicals and products for the manufacturing of methamphetamine inside his vehicle.
Fontenot admitted to officers that he knew the chemicals were dangerous because he had recently had an explosion at his house while making meth, the release stated.
