The Capital Area Corporate Recycling Council hosts its third annual garage sale on Saturday, in honor of America Recycles Day.

The event is from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the council’s warehouse at 800 Saint Philip St. in downtown Baton Rouge.

The organization will be selling used computer hardware, software and accessories, and miscellaneous items such as used televisions, DVD and CD players, cell phones and office supplies.

“Our theme this year is ‘Don’t Think Green. Be Green.’,” said Nancy Jo Craig, executive director of the council. “Recycling your computer is a great way to show your love for the environment and community.”

There will be a raffle for a flat screen monitor and gift cards from Izzo’s and Whole Foods. Children are invited to have their faces painted.

The nonprofit council, which provides computers to schools, other nonprofits, the disabled and low-income families, is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays for drop-off of used electronic equipment. For details, call (225) 379-3577 or visit http://www.cacrc.com.
