The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office will open a new substation and relocate an existing station in the northern part of the parish, a spokeswoman said Monday.

The new substation will be on Jackson Road in the Chaneyville/Pride area, Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Casey Rayborn Hicks said. The other substation will move from Church Street in Zachary to the corner of La. 964 and Brian Road, she said.

Both substations will be housed in a modular building donated to the Sheriff’s Office by ExxonMobil, Hicks said. The 15,360-square-foot structure will be separated into two buildings, she said.

The City of Zachary donated the land for the Zachary substation, Hicks said. The Sheriff’s Office is working with the parish School Board to get land for the Chaneyville/Pride substation, she said.
