Port Allen man dies in accident
PORT ALLEN — A Port Allen man died early Saturday in a single-car crash on La. 986 east of La. 415 near Lobdell, State Police Troop A reported.
Raymond L. Lacombe, 45, was westbound on La. 986 in a 1995 Honda Civic when he ran off the road to the right and into a ditch around 2:30 a.m., State Police said.
Lacombe’s car struck an embankment, vaulted into the air and flipped several times before coming to a rest on its roof, troopers said.
Lacombe, who was not wearing a seat belt during the crash, was pronounced dead at the scene by the West Baton Rouge Parish Coroner’s Office, troopers said. Alcohol is suspected as a factor in the crash and blood samples have been submitted to the State Police Crime Lab.
