The funeral for 24-year-old Army Sgt. Patrick Williamson was held Friday morning at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Broussard.
Williamson was among seven soldiers killed in Afghanistan on Oct. 27 when their vehicle was hit by a roadside bomb in Kandahar Province.
He was deployed with the 1st Battalion, 17th Infantry Regiment, 5th Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division, out of Fort Lewis, Wash.
His interment also took place at Sacred Heart Church.
