Two men get 18 years in string of robberies
Two 20-year-old Baton Rouge men each have been ordered to spend 18 years in prison for a string of armed robberies in parking lots along the Bluebonnet Boulevard business corridor last year.
Xavier Allesandro Fields, 1626 Emmaline Drive, and Robert Louis Scott, 9487 Balboa Drive, were sentenced Friday by state District Judge Don Johnson.
Both men pleaded guilty in May to three counts of conspiracy to commit armed robbery.
Fields and Scott were accused of robbing someone of their purse and wallet at gunpoint about 9:30 p.m. June 13, 2008, in the parking garage at Perkins Rowe.
Sheriff’s deputies responded about 90 minutes later to a similar robbery in the parking lot of the Rave theater at the Mall of Louisiana, and a third armed robbery shortly after that in the parking lot of Buffalo Wild Wings on Bluebonnet.
Fields and Scott were also charged in those incidents.
The men had stolen goods in their possession when they were arrested on Perkins Road at midnight, authorities said.
