Five evacuated after gas line leak in Baker

BAKER — Firefighters evacuated five people at a Thomas Road mobile home park Monday morning after a construction crew broke a buried natural gas line, Baker Fire Department spokesman Howard Ward said.

Firefighters and officials of the Baton Rouge Fire Department’s Hazardous Materials Unit set up a safety zone around the gas leak in Oak Glen Terrace while crews from Entergy repaired the rupture, Ward said.

No injuries were reported.
