LIVINGSTON – A Baton Rouge woman was killed Saturday night in a three-vehicle crash on US 190 west of LA 1024. The van she was driving was struck head-on by an SUV.

Annie V. Clononger, 62, of Baton Rouge, was driving a 1998 Ford van west on US 190 when she was struck head on by a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

The Jeep, driven by Justin Cutrer, 21, of Walker, was traveling east on US 190 when it crossed the center line just before striking the Ford van.

After impact, the van rotated counter-clockwise, came to rest in the east travel lane facing north, and was then struck on the driver side by a 2007 Chevrolet pickup.

The pickup, driven by Louis Edwards, 34, of Denham Springs, was traveling west on US 190 behind the van before the crash occurred.

Clononger was not restrained when the crash occurred and died from injuries at the scene of the crash.

Cutrer was properly restrained, but sustained serious injuries. He was taken to Our Lady of the Lake Hospital by Acadian Ambulance.

The two additional occupants in the van were both properly restrained and only suffered minor to moderate injuries.

Wendy Bethel, 65, and Wanda Beckwith, 59, both of Walker, were transported to Our Lady of the Lake Hospital by Acadian Ambulance.  Edwards was also properly restrained and sustained minor injuries in the crash.

Alcohol is not suspected to have been a factor in the crash.  However, Troopers have submitted blood samples of all three drivers to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab for chemical analysis.

Troopers have charged Cutrer with Negligent Homicide, Negligent Injury (2 counts), and Driving Left of Center.

Information for this report is from a Louisiana State Police press release.
