7 booked in burglaries around Plaquemine
PLAQUEMINE — Authorities have arrested seven people involved in a string of area burglaries, said Capt. Blair Favaron, of the Iberville Parish Sheriff’s Office, on Wednesday.
Trevan Seals, 18, 58767 Ware Dr., Plaquemine, and Keith Bosley, 17, 58233 Gay St., Plaquemine, were arrested Oct. 22; they are alleged to have taken part in five burglaries during the weekend starting Oct. 16 in the Seymourville area south of Plaquemine.
The men have been charged on two counts each of simple burglary and one count each of attempted burglary.
Investigators also arrested five juveniles Monday who they said took part in seven burglaries in October and possibly another burglary in September.
The burglaries were centered in the north Plaquemine area on Jade Drive in the Green Acres subdivision and on West Homestead Drive near the subdivision.
Each youth has been charged with two counts of simple burglary, and two counts of aggravated burglary because investigators believe the juveniles armed themselves with weapons found during two of burglaries.
Authorities said they have recovered about $5,000 in computer equipment and other property, but no weapons.
