Hammond man booked in shooting
HAMMOND — Tangipahoa Parish sheriff’s deputies arrested a Hammond man Wednesday on counts of aggravated burglary and attempted first-degree murder in a home invasion, a news release says.
A woman told deputies she got a call that someone was inside her home and when she and a friend showed up, the suspect fired shots toward them and fled, the release says.
Deputies said they found the house on East Park Avenue ransacked, the release says.
The woman said James Miller Green had called her numerous times that day asking her to meet with him, but she had refused, the news release says.
Deputies reported Green, 40, 42451 Buzetta Lane, was booked on stalking, simple criminal damage to property and aggravated burglary counts and two counts of attempted first-degree murder.
