16-year-old struck on Scenic Highway
A 16-year-old boy ran out into Scenic Highway Sunday near Walnut Street and was hit by a northbound car, Baton Rouge police said.
The youth was taken to Baton Rouge General Hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries, police spokesman Cpl. L’Jean McKneely Jr. said Sunday.
The driver of the 1993 Honda Civic was not ticketed, he said. The youth’s name was not available Sunday night, McKneely said.
Four people booked on EBR DWI counts
Authorities arrested at least four people suspected of driving while intoxicated in East Baton Rouge Parish and booked them into Parish Prison between 3 p.m. Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday, booking records show.
Those booked and the counts against them:
- Jason Lloyd Wells, 33, 6934 Landmore Drive, Greenwell Springs, third-offense DWI, reckless operation of a vehicle and failure to maintain control.
- Cedrick O’Neil Morrison, 29, 6652 Machost Road, Zachary, first-offense DWI, distribution and manufacture of a Schedule I drug, headlights required and possession of an alcoholic beverage in a vehicle.
- Garan Marshall Lentz, 19, 18437 Keystone Ave., Greenwell Springs, second-offense DWI, driver’s license suspended or revoked, reckless operation of a vehicle, driving left of center and resisting an officer.
- Chase Landon Munn, 25, 5650 Machost Road, Zachary, first-offense DWI and improper lane usage.
