Second suspect arrested in shooting
A second suspect was arrested Friday night in the armed robbery and slaying of a Bard Avenue resident Oct. 15, according to a Baton Rouge Police Department news release.

Timothy McCoy, 17, of 3104 Vancouver Drive, was booked into Parish Prison on counts of first-degree murder, armed robbery, simple criminal damage to property, being a fugitive, simple burglary and illegal use of a weapon, according to prison records.

McCoy is accused in the shooting death of Wesley Johnson, 24, of 11445 Bard Ave., No. 112, on the night of Oct. 15.

Police said two men forced their way into Johnson’s apartment and demanded money, then shot Johnson and fled.

Johnson later died at a hospital from his injuries.

The other suspect, Larondric Christopher Johnson, 21, was arrested Thursday and booked into Parish Prison on counts of first-degree murder, armed robbery and illegal use of a weapon in Wesley Johnson’s death.

The victim and Larondric Johnson were not related, according to police.

Sheriff’s Office seeks suspects in shooting
Two men were reluctant to speak freely with deputies after they were shot late Friday night in the 7000 block of Richey Drive, said Casey Rayborn Hicks, a spokeswoman for the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Hicks said the victims have provided detectives with few details about the incident.

Hicks said that witnesses in the area said two men were involved in the shootings and described them as black males who were wearing dark pants and dark hoodies.

Both suspects fled in a white, newer model Honda or Hyundai driven by an unknown person. The attackers fled west on Richey Drive toward Denova Street, Hicks said.
