Walker man dies in single-car crash
WATSON — Jason Muse, 34, of Walker, was killed in a single- vehicle crash Saturday morning on La. 1023, north of La. 1019 in Livingston Parish, according to a news release from Louisiana State Police.
The wreck occurred just before 5:30 a.m., said Russell Graham II, a spokesman for State Police.
Muse was southbound on La. 1023 in a 2004 Dodge pickup truck when he veered off the roadway and into a ditch, hitting a culvert. The impact vaulted the vehicle into the air, and it struck a tree and came to rest on its roof in a ditch, Graham said.
Muse was pronounced dead at the scene by the Livingston Parish Coroner’s Office, Graham said.
Graham said that Muse was not properly restrained when the crash occurred, and alcohol is suspected to have been a factor in the crash.
A sample of Muse’s blood has been submitted to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab for chemical analysis, Graham said.
