Pro Bono Week kicks off with jambalaya dinner
The Baton Rouge Bar Foundation will kick off a local celebration of national Pro Bono Week with its annual “Lawyers Work for Food’’ jambalaya dinner Friday, a news release says.
Baton Rouge Bar Association employees and volunteers will serve dinner from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in front of the association’s building at 544 Main St.
The meal costs $7 and includes homemade jambalaya, salad, dinner roll and dessert. Dinners are free to lawyers who accept a pro bono case.
The bar foundation’s Pro Bono Week celebration also includes an Ask-A-Lawyer workshop from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the Main Library, 7711 Goodwood Blvd.; Case Placement Day at East Baton Rouge Parish Family Court on Tuesday; and Thirst for Justice legal clinics from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28, and Thursday, Oct. 29 at the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, 220 St. Vincent de Place.
