Crash fatal to man in Lafourche

GALLIANO — A man died Sunday night after his car went off La. 308 and hit a tree in Lafourche Parish, Louisiana State Police reported Monday.

Jeremy Dantin, 37, of Cut Off was headed southbound near East 73rd Street when his 1992 Lexus 300 left the highway to the right, troopers said.

The Lexus traveled nearly 100 feet off the highway before it hit the tree at 9:05 p.m., troopers said.

The Lafourche Parish Coroner’s Office pronounced Dantin dead at the scene, troopers said.

Speed is not suspected as  factor in the crash, which is still under investigation, troopers said. Dantin was wearing his seatbelt, troopers said.
