Man, 26, accused of shooting another
LOCKPORT — Lafourche Parish sheriff’s deputies arrested a Raceland man accused of shooting another man at a bar in a dispute over stolen wheel rims.
Terrance “Butta” Lyons, 26, 305 Williams St., Raceland, surrendered at the Criminal Operations Center in Lockport around 9 p.m. Wednesday, deputies said in a statement Thursday.
Lyons, whom deputies previously identified as being from Thibodaux, was arrested and booked with attempted second-degree murder and on two outstanding warrants for contempt of court, deputies said.
Lyons had argued with Dwayne Cleveland, 42, of Dantin Street, Raceland, outside James Lounge in Raceland’s Alidore community Tuesday night, deputies said.
During the argument, Lyons shot Cleveland once in each leg and then fled, deputies said.
Lyons reportedly admitted to Cleveland that he took the rims but later denied doing so when questioned by deputies, the Sheriff’s Office reported. Lyons did admit to shooting Cleveland, deputies said.
Lyons was transferred to Concordia Parish Correctional Facility in Ferriday on Friday with his bond set at $101,250, said Sgt. Lesley Hill Peters, sheriff’s spokeswoman.
