HAMMOND — Deputies arrested a Springfield man Thursday in connection with the shooting of a man and a woman early Sunday at the D and D Lounge in Hammond, the Tangipahoa Sheriff’s Office reported.
Deputies booked Samuel Scott, 31, of Springfield, in the Tangipahoa Parish Jail Thursday on two counts of attempted first-degree murder, according to a statement the Sheriff’s Office issued.
Deputies who located Scott in a motel room off Airport Road in Hammond arrested him without incident, the statement says.
Deputies called to the D and D Lounge around 1:52 a.m. Sunday found that a 27-year-old woman and a 29-year-old man had been shot and wounded during a fight at the bar, the statement says.
Both victims are expected to recover.
