3 arrested, 1 at large, in bar beating
RACELAND — Deputies arrested three lounge patrons and are looking for a fourth in the armed robbery and beating of a bar assistant manager at midnight Tuesday after he called for closing time, the Lafourche Sheriff’s Office reported.
A customer known only as “Timothy” responded to the assistant manager of Queen Bee Lounge, 1494 U.S. 90 E., Raceland, saying that the bar would close when he said so, after which he beat the bar employee with a pool cue, deputies said in a statement Wednesday.
Two others, Joel Barrios, 20, 15297 La. 631, Paradis, and Brandon Davis, 25, 101 Folse Road, Des Allemands, joined in the beating of the bar employee, deputies said.
Barrios, Davis, “Timothy” and Rita Lirette, 24, 15297 La. 631, Paradis, took six bottles of liquor valued at $139 and left, striking two women employed at the bar on the way out, deputies said.
The four departed on U.S. 90 driving a red Cadillac and were later stopped at a St. Charles Parish gas station, deputies said.
The man known as “Timothy” escaped on foot but the other three, Barrios, Davis and Lirette, were arrested and booked with armed robbery, aggravated battery and two counts of simple battery, deputies said.
Deputies said the three remained in the Lafourche Parish Detention Center in Thibodaux on Wednesday on bond: Barrios, $100,000; Davis, $100,000; and Lirette, $25,000.
Anyone with information on “Timothy” is asked to call Lafourche Crimestoppers at (800) SHERIFF or (800) 743-7433.
