Police have received information about Thursday’s triple homicide on Byron Avenue but have not made any arrests and are still searching for suspects.

“We are still urging people to call in any information that they may know that pertains to this case,” said Cpl. L’Jean McKneely, a Baton Rouge Police Department spokesman. “That one call may lead to the arrest of the shooter.”

Two men and a woman were found fatally shot inside a car Thursday on Byron Avenue in the Brookstown area.

Police discovered the bodies about 5 a.m. after receiving a call from a woman about a 2003 silver Honda Accord with tinted windows parked in her driveway at 6047 Byron Ave.

Police identified the victims as:

  • Adrian Stewart, 27, 1243 St. Joseph St.
  • Marcus Thomas, 24, 1104 N. 35th St.
  • Gabriella Eisworth, 20, 22951 Greenwell Springs Road, Central.

Stewart’s mother, Corine Stewart, said she saw her son for the last time Wednesday when he got into a car with some men and rode off.

“He kissed me on the forehead and told me he would be right back,” she said. “He never came back.”

Marcus Thomas’ mother, Michelle Queen, had a similar story about the last time she saw her son.

After going to Wal-Mart together Wednesday night, Queen said, “He kissed me on the forehead and said goodbye.”

Queen and Stewart said their sons were close friends and knew Eisworth, but they had no clue as to why the three of them were slain.

“All I know is that none of them should have been killed,” Queen said, shaking her head and wiping a tear from her cheek.

The deaths of Eisworth, Stewart and Thomas bring to five the number of people killed in the Brookstown area within the past month.
