Mississippi group to tour Baton Rouge
About 70 business and government leaders from Jackson, Miss., plan to visit Baton Rouge next week to learn about things the city is doing that have proven successful, Mayor-President Kip Holden’s office said Thursday.
The group is to arrive Thursday and will spend the afternoon on a three-hour trolley tour of the downtown area, Downtown Development District Director Davis Rhorer said.
He said the contingent is especially interested in the Shaw Center for the Arts because it is a joint effort between the city, state, Baton Rouge Area Foundation and LSU.
On Friday, Holden and other city-parish leaders will host a formal program for the Jackson group at the Old State Capital, according to a news release.
