One person was killed and three people were injured today in a two-vehicle crash on Greenwell Springs Road near Wax Road, a State Police spokesman said.

The wreck occurred about 12:30 p.m. and involved a 2001 Toyota Camry and a 1982 Chevy truck that was pulling a trailer containing some hay, said Sgt. Markus Smith.

Faith Passman, 18, of Greenwell Springs, was driving the Camry north on Greenwell Springs Road when, for reason unknown to investigators, the car veered into oncoming traffic, Smith said.

The Camry smashed into the truck, which was driven by Robert Dornier, 23, of Pride, Smith said. Samantha Guzzardo, 20, of Pride, and Mike Cox, 57, of Pride, were riding in the truck.

Passman was pronounced dead at Oschner Medical Center, Smith said.

Dornier and Guzzardo were taken to Our Lady of the Lake Medical Center with moderate injuries, Smith said. Cox was taken to Our Lady of the Lake with minor injuries.

Blood was taken from everyone involved in the crash and will be analyzed for alcohol and drugs, Smith said.
