Multiple drug arrests made in Lafourche

THIBODAUX — The Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested 23 people and confiscated a variety of illegal drugs in a three-month undercover investigation, Sheriff Craig Webre said Friday.

Two others booked in the operation are in substance abuse clinics and a third was issued a summons, Chief Deputy Bud Dill said.

Undercover  agents of the sheriff’s Drug Task Force were assisted in the arrests by the U.S. Marshals Service, Louisiana State Police, Thibodaux Police Department, Louisiana Probation and Parole officers, Lockport Police Department, the Louisiana Alcohol and Tobacco Control Office and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.

Drugs confiscated included Ecstasy, marijuana, crack cocaine, cocaine, Soma, and other prescription medications, Webre said.

The arrests were made early Friday as agents flooded the Sixth Ward area of the parish in an operation dubbed “Swamp Popped,” the sheriff said.

Sixth Ward is the Chackbay area of Lafourche.

Those arrested and the criminal counts with which they were booked are:

• Clarence Cortez Jr., 45,  3288 Choctaw Road, Thibodaux; three counts of cocaine distribution, possession of a firearm while in possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of drug paraphernalia.
• Gary “Root” Rink, 45, 126 B Solar Trailer Park, Thibodaux; two counts of cocaine distribution and possession of a firearm while in possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
• Calvin Delatte, 48, 2958 Choctaw Road, Thibodaux; distribution of Oxycontin and being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm.
• Blake Chiasson, 24, 1042 La. 304, Thibodaux; distribution of MDMA (the chemical abbreviation for Ecstasy), cultivation of marijuana and being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm.
• Holli Delatte, 25, 2958 Choctaw Road, Thibodaux; distribution of cocaine and MDMA, use of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a juvenile and operating a vehicle for narcotics use.
• Heather Delatte, 28, 2954 Choctaw Road, Thibodaux; distribution of MDMA and principle to distribution of MDMA.
• Thomas Thibodaux III, 26, 3007 Choctaw Road, Thibodaux; principal to distribution of cocaine.
• Stacy Benoit, 40, 118 Benoit No. 1 Road;  distribution of cocaine and introduction of cocaine into a jail.
• Damion “Bosco” Keller, 29, 13 Erika St., Thibodaux; distribution of crack cocaine and also booked on a warrant from Terrebonne Parish.
• Kelly Chiasson, 47, 148 Solar Trailer Park, Thibodaux; principal to distribution of marijuana.
• Blake Thibodaux, 49, 100 Winder Road; distribution of marijuana.
• Brad Naquin Jr.,  19, 2354 St. Mary Highway, Thibodaux; distribution of MDMA.
• Danny Percle, 52, 175 Coteau Lane, Thibodaux; distribution of Soma.
• Derrick Usey, 23, 934 La. 304; distribution of MDMA.
• David Bourgeois, 45, 959 La. 304, Thibodaux; distribution of  crack cocaine.
• Theo Harry, 21, 194-3 Harrytown Lane, Vacherie; distribution of crack cocaine.
• Jeremiah Cortez, 29, 3652 La. 307, Thibodaux; distribution of MS Contin (morphine) and hydrocodone.
• Jay Larose, 26, 413 Wisteria St., Thibodaux; principal to distribution of MDMA.
• Colin Schouest, 19, 498 La. 307, Thibodaux; distribution of marijuana.
• Jai Clement, 29, 106 Terren Drive, Thibodaux; distribution of cocaine and marijuana.
• Kerry Thibodaux, 27, 530 La. 307, Thibodaux; distribution of marijuana.
• Bevin Williams, 25, 904 B Church St., Thibodaux; distribution of crack cocaine and marijuana.
• Corey Chiasson, 25, 215 Ridgeway St., Thibodaux;  distribution of cocaine.
• Gary Rink Jr., no age available, 126 B Solar Trailer Park; issued a summons for possession of drug paraphernalia.

The two men Dill said are in substance abuse treatment are Brian “Neck” McKee, 42, 400 Talbot St., Apt. C, Thibodaux, booked with distribution of hydrocodone; and Daryl Ordoyne, 34, 517 La. 20, Thibodaux, booked with principal to distribution of Soma.
