Motorcyclist injured in crash with truck
ERWINVILLE — A Krotz Springs man was critically injured early Thursday when thrown from his motorcycle in a collision with a truck on U.S. 190, State Police reported.
Johnny Edwards, 38, was driving his 2009 Harley-Davidson west in the right-hand lane on U.S. 190 west of La. 413 at 5:32 a.m. when an oncoming 2006 Nissan Titan pickup truck turned left into Edwards’ path, State Police said.
Edwards’ motorcycle struck the right rear wheel of the truck driven by Eric Adams, 22, of Batchelor, according to a State Police news release.
Edwards, who was wearing a non-approved helmet, was admitted to Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, State Police said.
Adams, who was not injured in the wreck, was arrested and booked into the West Baton Rouge Parish Detention Center on counts of negligent injuring, improper turning and obscured windows, State Police reported.
