Roddy Road section closed for project

GONZALES — Roddy Road, a major Ascension Parish thoroughfare, will be closed at the Shadow Creek and Bert Allen bridges for up to 90 days beginning Wednesday.

Motorists are advised to use La. 44 as an alternative route, according to a release from the Ascension Department of Public Works.

The contractor, Richard Price Contracting of Denham Springs, has been given 90 days to complete the work of replacing those bridges, however, Parish President Tommy Martinez said an effort will be made to complete the work before schools open Aug. 10.
